About Us

WSSEN steering group is comprised of a group of organisations that provide countywide infrastructure support for social enterprise in West Sussex.

We promote and raise the profile of social enterprise amongst funders, statutory bodies and potential customers and seek to identify all social enterprises across West Sussex and their support needs. WSSEN and its activities are funded by West Sussex County Council.

 

A few things about WSSEN

WSSEN was established in July 2005 and is managed by a steering group including: ICIS: information for life (now Helplines Partnership), Action in rural Sussex, The Aldingbourne Trust, University of Brighton, University of Chichester, West Sussex County Council and Voluntary Action Arun & Chichester.

  • to create an environment that enables social enterprises to flourish

 

Our services

WSSEN provides a range of services and support for social enterprise, including:

  • Support to access finance such as the Social Enterprise Fund.
  • Training and workshops on relevant topics such as marketing and business planning
  • Bi-monthly e-bulletin
  • Visits to social enterprises
  • Case studies, factsheets and other information
  • Support on social impact measurement issues
  • Links with key stakeholders such as Coast to Capital (Local Enterprise Partnership).
