Skills & Workforce

Businesses in West Sussex can draw on a talented and skilled pool of local labour with more than 120,000 of our residents holding a degree or equivalent qualification.

We are committed to ensuring that our residents have the specific and higher level skills that businesses need and in reducing the proportion of residents with low or no skills and qualifications. We are particularly focussed on ensuring people have science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) skills which our businesses need.

Our businesses attract talent from top class local universities and our further education colleges which provide a rich supply of labour with the technical skills our businesses need.
